About the customer

Founded in 1896, Satake has been committed to providing integrated solutions for the entire food processing industry chain from farm to table. With over 20 years of deep industry knowledge, Satake is one of the top three companies globally in the food processing equipment market. The products of the Satake Group are widely used in over 150 countries and regions around the world.

The challenge

Satake’s equipment is widely used in the cleaning, milling, grading, color sorting, polishing, and packaging processes of grains such as rice, wheat, and corn. Grain processing typically operates continuously for long periods, with core equipment including rice mills, color sorters, destoners, polishers, and conveying systems.

Rice Mill: The high-speed rotating spindle and milling roller require precise dynamic balancing, and abnormalities can directly affect the breakage rate and quality of finished rice.

Color Sorter: Vibration feeding and optical detection demand high stability and synchronization, and abnormalities can lead to decreased color sorting accuracy.

Rice Washing Machine: Cleans rice through water flow and agitation, requiring stable motors, transmission mechanisms, and water pumps. Abnormalities can affect cleanliness and processing efficiency.

Conveying Equipment: Chain, belt, or roller abnormalities can reduce material transfer efficiency.

Unplanned Downtime Impacts Production Output and Grain Quality

Failures in critical equipment interrupt production, and grain retained inside equipment may absorb moisture, mold, or solidify.

Long Inspection Intervals Make Faults Difficult to Detect

Long periodic inspections by onsite personnel or OEM engineers mean early abnormalities in bearings, belts, or pumps are often overlooked.

Maintenance Challenges in Wet Areas

Long-term exposure to water and grain residue causes motor moisture ingress, bearing corrosion, and pump wear, requiring shutdown and disassembly for inspection, significantly reducing maintenance efficiency.

Dust and Heavy-Load Environments Accelerate Component Degradation

High-speed equipment such as rice mills and polishers operate in dusty environments, causing rapid lubricant degradation and accelerated wear of bearings, belts, and chains, with early issues difficult to detect manually.
