Predictive maintenance for mines

How can a mine monitor hoists, conveyors and crushers without relying on manual rounds?

DHMSCare monitors hoists, air compressors, belt conveyors, crushers and pumps.

Wireless vibration and temperature sensors sit on their motors, reducers and pumps.

A mine typically needs about 80–150 sensors.

Its industrial AI agent watches every machine around the clock.

It raises an alert, with a diagnosis, as soon as a fault starts to develop.

Industry challenges

Limited inspection coverage

Hoists, belt conveyors and crushers are numerous and spread over a large area. Manual inspection cannot cover every point.

Harsh conditions, high stakes

Harsh and complex conditions underground mean a sudden equipment failure can stop production. In the worst case it can cause a safety incident.

Faults found late

When equipment condition depends on manual judgment, hidden faults are found late. By then the repair is bigger and the stop is longer.

Downtime wastes ore

An unplanned stop interrupts the continuous chain of extraction, haulage and processing. Ore left standing in the equipment can cake or oxidize, which wastes material.

Monitoring solution

DHMSCare places sensors on the motors, reducers and pumps of hoists, air compressors, belt conveyors and crushers.

The sensors collect operating data in real time and send it through the gateway, with DMG311 (4G) where there is no Wi-Fi.

From the day of installation, DHMSCare gives 24/7 condition monitoring, intelligent alerts and fault diagnosis, with no months-long learning period.

Platform

DHMSCare uses AI to identify early fault signs such as gear wear and bearing anomalies, assess equipment health and provide maintenance recommendations.

Can DHMSCare monitor long conveyors, crushers, mills and slurry pumps?

Yes. DHMSCare already monitors belt conveyors, crushers, vibrating screens, hoists, compressors and pumps at coal mines and preparation plants, and it also covers ball mills. Underground installations in coal mines use intrinsically safe sensors and terminals with mining certification, sized on site. For slow conveyor pulleys, tell us the shaft speed and we confirm the right sensor first.

Questions

We are a small or mid-sized company. Is this for us?

Yes. Start with one line and one gateway, subscribe per sensor per year, and begin on AI Care; Care if you only need condition monitoring.

How long does a one-line pilot take?

Installation follows the seven steps in our quick installation guide: create the equipment, mount the gateway, attach the sensors and bind the measuring points. We agree the pilot period with you by line size.

We have no vibration engineer. Can we still use it?

Yes. The AI identifies early fault signs, assesses equipment health and gives maintenance recommendations, and Mina tells you which machine to handle first and why.

Which equipment should a mine monitor first?

Start with the hoists and belt conveyors, because a stop on either halts the whole chain. Then add the crushers, air compressors and pumps.

How many sensors does a mine need?

About 80–150 per mine, depending on how many machines you cover. We size the count with you, machine by machine.

Our site has no Wi-Fi. Can DHMSCare still connect?

Yes. The DMG311 gateway connects over 4G or Ethernet, so sites without Wi-Fi can still send sensor data to the platform.
