Can DHMSCare monitor stamping presses, hydraulic units and compressors in an auto parts plant?

Short answer

Yes. DHMSCare can monitor the motors, hydraulic pump units and compressors in auto parts plants; on stamping presses it watches the rotating drive, such as the main motor and its bearings, not the stamping process. A hydraulic pump unit is the motor and pump set that powers a hydraulic press.

These parts wear like any motor or pump, and the wear shows in their vibration.

Why presses need a careful approach

Every press stroke sends a shock through the machine. That shock belongs to the process, not to a fault.

DHMSCare learns each machine's normal vibration, including the steady vibration its process creates, and an operating state your team confirms gets its own normal level, so steady process vibration on its own is not reported as a motor, gearbox or bearing fault.

A new change is still reported, even when the process may have caused it, so your team can check whether the process or the machine has changed.

Where the sensors go

The best points are the motor and pump of the hydraulic unit, and motors mounted away from the press frame. A motor on the press crown, the top part of the press, also feels the stroke shocks, so DHMSCare makes no promise for it until a site reading shows clean data.

Crankshafts, eccentric shafts and main gears turn at stroke rate, which is slow. Send us their shaft speed, and we pick a suitable sensor with you before any order.

What DHMSCare does not promise

DHMSCare does not measure stroke, tonnage or die condition. On compressors it watches the rotating parts and makes no promise about valves or pistons.

Servo presses change motor speed inside each stroke, so they need a site check before we recommend points. On the machines it does cover, 90%+ of DHMSCare alerts turn out accurate in real deployments.

Next step

By watching the rotating drives of stamping presses against each machine's own baseline, with Mina concluding on every alert, DHMSCare makes early changes in hydraulic units and compressors visible too.

Questions buyers also ask

Will stroke shocks confuse the readings?

Not on a well-chosen point. A sensor on the press frame can see shocks beyond its measuring range, and DHMSCare discards such a clipped capture before judging it. That is why the sensors go on the hydraulic unit and on off-frame motors.

How are the hydraulic unit's load cycles handled?

They are treated as operating states. Your team confirms each state, such as loaded and unloaded, and each gets its own normal level.

Can we start with the compressors only?

Yes. You can start with the machines whose stops hurt most, then add the hydraulic units and press drives once the first alerts prove useful.
